Celista • North Shuswap • British Columbia
Celista is a small lakeside hamlet often called the cultural centre of the North Shuswap — home to the community hall, the elementary school and St. David's Church. Shuswap Lake is a warm, clear, four-armed lake in the southern interior of British Columbia, and the north shore gets the sun all day long.
Scotch Creek, 10 km down the road, is the commercial centre of the North Shuswap and has the grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy and restaurants. The area's main weekly farmers market is a five-minute walk from the resort.
You are camping in the woods, and the woods are busy.
Celista sits on the north shore of the Shuswap Arm, reached from Highway 1 at Squilax and then east along the Squilax–Anglemont Road. Roughly five hours from Vancouver, four and a half from Calgary, and about an hour and a half from Kelowna.
